So, it's Tuesday... Most people are getting into the workweek and the last thing on their mind is transformation. Most of us are focused on our work. There is not the energy that comes with Fridays- knowing the weekend is tomorrow. Or even Wednesday thinking that you made it through half the week. Nothing is especially motivating or special about most of our Tuesdays so I found it interesting that IRSM uses this day to encourage people to be transformed.
Romans 12:1-2 says: "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will ”his good, pleasing and perfect will."
"Be transformed by the renewing of your mind". I think this is perfect for Tuesdays. Why? Because it's really easy to get bogged down in our works, our routine, our "away from church" life. It's easy to forget about the spiritual, to forget to ask what God's will is for me today, to forget that battles are being fought for souls and that I, a lot of times, can't see the bigger picture because I'm so focused on my life today.
So it's Tuesday... Why not stop for a second... Give thanks, meditate on a verse, say something encouraging to your co-worker, get into a tickle war with your kids. Do something just for God today, whatever that might be. God can do so much in transforming us if we would only take a second and open our eyes and turn our thoughts to Him. Give God a chance to participate in today.
