On September 12, 1954, my grandparents, George and Barbara Brown were married in Wiersdale, Florida. This weekend, many family members and several close friends will gather to celebrate their 60 years of marriage.
May God be praised for their example of faithfulness to each other and to God. May there be a star in their crown for each of the children’s whose lives they touched and transformed through Christian Homes for Children. May their legacy of faith continue throughout the generations of their family.
I thank God for the blessing they have been in my life and pray that He continues to bless them as well.

Whether an insight from Scripture, a random fact about our family history, or the types of trees found in the backyard, my Granddad has always a wealth of knowledge to share and makes sure you know that “it will be on the test.” Many of the Bible questions he shares will be, as he says, “on the final exam.”
I’m glad that I won’t be graded by my score on a test when I reach heaven, but I am grateful that God’s grace is sufficient for me and that His power is made perfect in my weakness (or my bad memory). I’m also grateful for my granddad’s desire to share his insights from Scripture.
I’m not sure what we are discussing in this picture that was taken more than 30 years ago, but on this Throwback Thursday, I’m glad that the contents of that conversation will not be on the test.
