Next week, Wake-up Wednesday will fall on Christmas morning.  It has most definitely snuck up on me this year.  Thankfully, as a family, we decided to draw a name and exchange only one gift, so the shopping pressure is greatly lessened.  I am grateful for any escape from the commercial intensity of Christmas.  I went to Wal-Mart the other night to pick up a few items and was shocked at how many aisles had been converted to toy aisles for the holidays.

This brought to mind the Charlie Brown Christmas Special and the fact that the show and the book directly quote Luke 2 - the true reason for the season.  (Can you guess what Story-time Saturday will be this week? ;)

In researching for the 2nd book, I have realized that much of what I have on my heart to share has already been stated in one way or another by other authors who have done a much better or more profound job than I could do.  I am humbled to attempt to embark upon this new journey and tread into the waters of other great writers.

However, God has reminded me that even if the content may not be as novel as I would hope or pretend, the format is.  Iron Rose Sister Ministries (IRSM) is passionate about small group Bible studies and transformation in community.  There is nothing like time in the Word and in prayer with other Christian sisters.

So, please know that in the writing of the 2nd book, this blog, or anything else IRSM related, it is done while being bathed in prayer.  I pray over each and every life that may be touched by whatever God might communicate through me.  I pray over the groups that will gather and dive into the Word together, facilitated by IRSM studies.  I pray that the words of my mouth (or the words on the page) and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in His sight (Psalm 19:14).
