Yesterday, I arrived in San Diego, CA, to do a Ladies' Day on Saturday and then continue on to the Pepperdine Lectureships in Malibu next Tuesday. While here in San Diego, I am staying with my good friends, Daniel & Mandy Quintero, and their lovely daughters, Daniela and Carmen.
Mandy and I have known each other for almost 15 years and were roommates during my previous time in Denver, CO. We enjoyed the blessings of working with the church plant in Highlands Ranch, and also the establishment of three Spanish-speaking congregations in the Denver area.
We both share a love for God, His Word, missions, and a special love for the people of Venezuela - she even married a Venezuelan! I look forward to catching up with her and sharing in the joys and challenges our lives have brought since the last time we were able to visit.

We read in Revelation (Rev 3:20) that God is at the door knocking, and all we have to do is open and he will come in. My son recently learned how to knock on doors and expects someone to answer and open on the other side. But what if we are not listening for the knocking? We don't know to open the door. Or what if, even worse, we are not in the room or even home to listen? God wants us to invite him in, to hear him, to open the door. May we be awakened on this wake up Wednesday to listen for the knock on the door, even be eagerly waiting for the knock from the other side.
