Over the past few days, I have appreciated the blessing of time with family. My dad is the only one still in town, but it was great to have all of us together and if you are friends with me on Facebook, you saw the many pictures chronicling the good time.
I have also reflected on the fact that being here in the same town, the same house actually, as some of my family, has afforded some tremendous opportunities and blessings I wouldn't have otherwise had. I wondered if I would've been able to join the rest of the family for a weekend gathering if I were still working in Baton Rouge with the Campus Ministry... There's no way to answer that, but the redefined focus of Iron Rose Sister Ministries, while it has it's many challenges, especially in the start-up, has blessed me with more opportunities than before to be with family.
Sometimes we know that God is calling us to something, but we don't see all of the benefits and blessings that are around the corner until we Trust and Obey.

On Friday, I will be leaving to drive down to Houston where I will spend a few days and speak to a few women before going to Venezuela for the Eastern Venezuela Christian Women’s Conference. Since we’ve had family in town visiting, I haven’t dedicated as much time to the ministry in order to spend quality time with family and focus on that priority. Therefore, today, I have been working diligently to catch up and one of the things on my list was to call Ana Guaicara in Barcelona, Venezuela, to consult with her about several things for the Conference at the end of October.
When we got to discussing the classes and the theme for the weekend, I told her, “Sister, I don’t know exactly what y’all want me to speak on or cover with the title, ‘Awaken, woman! Are you a lamp or a torch?’ I have prayed that the Spirit will guide me in preparation for the classes.” I continued explaining the verses and points that the Spirit was leading me to share. When I finished, she shouted out and exclaimed, “Yes! That is exactly what we wanted for the classes. It’s perfect!”
“Thanks be to God,” I told her. “Only the Spirit can put us on the same page in that way.”
What are you praying that the Spirit will guide you in? Or maybe on this Makeover Monday, you need to ask the Spirit to guide you more.
