Tickle-time, peek-a-boo, chasing around the house, throwing him up in the air… these are just a few of my nephew’s favorite activities. He loves anything that makes him laugh and that laughter is contagious.
Kadesh never tires of being silly. And the sillier we are with him, the happier it makes him. I think it’s his greatest love language – to be given and received. The silliness brings laughter and through that silly time together, he feels safe and loved.
In honor of Food & Family on Fridays, take a moment this weekend for some silly time with a child you know. You will both be blessed and you’ll be reminded of the healing power of laughter.

We all have days, moments, even weeks where we feel like nothing is going our way. When this happens as a child, it is more socially acceptable to throw a tantrum or to cry it out. As an adult, we are not permitted this luxury. We are taught to suppress our emotions and deal with it when things don’t go our way.
There are times, however, when it is worth giving ourselves permission to “just cry it out” – maybe not in public, but maybe not alone.
It’s Throwback Thursday, so here’s a photo to encourage you to cry it out. It’s your choice whether or not you allow someone to document your moment of frustration since you may not look as ugly or as cute as I did in this picture.
