Â
Taque is a mother of five from Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela - a faithful sister who I had not seen for at least ten years. Â What a joy to see her last weekend at the Eastern Venezuelan Women's Conference at a camp in Caripe, Venezuela, with 254 other women in attendance.
On Friday, when we all arrived, Taque and I were able to catch up about the many things God has done in our lives over the years and were encouraged to see each other's faithfulness. Â She also updated me on her children and asked for specific prayers for one of them.
However, what touched me the most was the conversation we shared on Saturday night. Â I had finished giving the keynote lesson that evening and we were all visiting before heading to bed. Â Taque approached me with tears in her eyes and said, "You know, I wasn't going to tell you this, but I almost didn't come this weekend. Â I didn't really want to come, but at the last minute, I felt like God was urging me to come, so I did. Â Tonight, during your lesson, you shared something that made me know why I definitely needed to be here. Â Thank you for allowing God to use you to speak to me."
Now I was the one with tears in my eyes. Â I thanked her and told her that if I was in Venezuela for no other reason this week, it was to have shared that one message with her. Â I asked her to pray that God will continue to use me to encourage and speak to others through me. Â Please join us in that prayer as well.
