Yesterday, a friend of mine was heavy on my heart. I wasn't sure why, but I really felt like I needed to contact her and ask her about the house she and her family are trying to sell. It was a nagging feeling, but I set it aside since I was in the middle of several other things and couldn't text or call her right then. I said a prayer on her behalf and proceeded with my day.
Not ten minutes later, I received a text from her asking for prayers for a potential buyer that was coming to look at their house later that day. Wow. I was so humbled by the Spirit's urging and so I proceeded to send a quick text to several others who had been on my mind and heart recently - to encourage them and let them know that they continue in my thoughts and prayers.
On this Wake-up Wednesday, who is the Spirit urging you to contact or what is the Spirit urging you to do? Let's awaken and hear His voice, even if it is not an audible shout or whisper.
Unity was not only the theme in the teaching for the International Women’s Conference, it was manifested in every aspect of the entire event. Over 400 women from 14 countries gathered at the Impact Church of Christ in Houston, Texas, for three days of teaching, fellowship, and, of course, food. Ten congregations from the Houston area sent representatives as part of the organizational committee to put together an event of this magnitude. Six of those same congregations prepared meals to be served to the women. One of the congregations made sure the Latin American women got to taste Texas barbeque as part of their Houston experience as well.
It was a blessing to reconnect with women I had met previously in Venezuela and Colombia, and make new friends from Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, and many other places. It was a tremendous opportunity to share with everyone about Iron Rose Sister Ministries and all that God is doing through this new ministry. I pray that we can coordinate the tentative invitations I received from many congregations to go and speak at a Ladies’ Retreat, conduct a seminar, etc. If you’re interested in having a seminar or retreat in your area, contact us now to book your 2014 date!
One additional comment I will make about the conference today is that it was transformational. I was encouraged by the faithfulness of the women, the God-stories they shared, and the overall reminder of God’s working across the world.
