Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
What an awesome thing to be able to identify what we are not fighting against! We are struggling against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Our fight is not against flesh and blood. We are not to struggle against each other.
There are many times when my husband and I have to remind each other that we are on the same team. Those reminders often come we when are struggling against each other. My encouragement for you on this Makeover Monday is to remember who and what we are truly struggling against and that it should not be each other but the dark powers of this world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms! That is already a big enough fight!
One of my favorite places to be is in the kitchen cooking. It doesn’t matter if it’s my kitchen or not. I am in my own little world in the kitchen. It doesn’t matter if I’m cooking alone or talking with someone while I’m cooking. I find my way around strange kitchens quite quickly and, for me, cooking is like therapy.
I know that for some people, cooking is a major source of stress. But I am relaxed and feel at home when I am in the kitchen and I’m also able to allow my creativity to bloom.
When cooking, I am working on a project that will be completed soon in the future and that will be enjoyed. I make a mess of the kitchen, but I clean it up afterward. A greater joy comes when others enjoy the food I’ve made as well.
Where is your world? What relaxes you or is your (healthy) therapy?
