I am amazed at how much better I feel after a short walk, a swim, or a bike ride. I'm not a hard-core exerciser, but there's something about getting the blood flowing, moving your muscles, and catching some natural Vitamin D from the sun. A few weeks ago, I couldn't be outside enough. I must've been low on Vitamin D. I took frequent walks and enjoyed the prayer time and clearing of my head. I still have the Birkenstocks tan line on my feet to prove it!
On this Wake-up Wednesday, the first Wednesday in October, enjoy some of the cooler temperatures and go for a short walk, or a bike ride, a swim, or whatever your favorite form of exercise is. Spend that time in prayer and clearing your head.
Over the past few days, I have appreciated the blessing of time with family. My dad is the only one still in town, but it was great to have all of us together and if you are friends with me on Facebook, you saw the many pictures chronicling the good time.
I have also reflected on the fact that being here in the same town, the same house actually, as some of my family, has afforded some tremendous opportunities and blessings I wouldn't have otherwise had. I wondered if I would've been able to join the rest of the family for a weekend gathering if I were still working in Baton Rouge with the Campus Ministry... There's no way to answer that, but the redefined focus of Iron Rose Sister Ministries, while it has it's many challenges, especially in the start-up, has blessed me with more opportunities than before to be with family.
Sometimes we know that God is calling us to something, but we don't see all of the benefits and blessings that are around the corner until we Trust and Obey.
