(written last Wed, Oct. 30)
This morning, when I woke up, I wasn't sure where I was. Since I left on the 4th of October, I have been in five cities in two countries. Tomorrow morning, I will leave to start my drive back to Denver, Colorado, from Houston, Texas.
I have been reflecting a lot on "where I am" in a literal and figurative sense. I am not at all where I thought I would be at this point in my life. But I trust God to continue to lead me where He would have me to go.
We identify so much with where we are and what we know. It becomes familiar and comfortable. During the past six months, where I am has changed significantly, drastically, and constantly.
What has remained constant is my relationship with God. Where are you today? Are you in a place that is too comfortable and familiar? Are you surrounded by unknowns? No matter where you find yourself, I pray that God is your constant.
Yesterday, we highlighted the need to take care of our physical selves. How’s your “spiritual self” doing? Does it take Herculean effort to dedicate some time in prayer or are you hungry for communication with your Heavenly Father? Are the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart pleasing in His sight (Psalm 19:14)? Or do you wish God didn’t have a first-hand look at your speech and actions today?
It’s Transformational Tuesday and today I encourage you to take at least 30 minutes to dedicate to your spiritual self. You can spend that time praying, reading Scripture, meditating, walking and talking with God, singing out in praise, or whatever you are led to do that brings you closer to the Father for those 30 minutes. Be creative and enjoy a blessing that can only come from time spent with God.
